Fosca Giannotti is Full Professor of Computer Science at Scuola Normale Superiore since 2021. She co-leads the KDD Lab, a joint research initiative of the University of Pisa, ISTI-CNR and SNS since 1996. Her research focuses on methods for trustworthy and human-centered explainable AI, and on their application for understanding and predicting complex phenomena both at individual and social scale in domains characterized by human-machine collaboration.

Guglielmo Meardi is Full Professor of Sociology of Work and Economy and Dean of the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences at Scuola Normale Superiore. He has taught for twenty years at the University of Warwick, UK, where he was Professor of Industrial Relations and Director of the Industrial Relations Research Unit. His research is on the processes of internationalisation of the world of work, including relocation of production, multinational corporations as employers, transnational labour movements, multi-level governance, and labour migration.

Mario Pianta is Full Professor of Economic Policy at Scuola Normale Superiore, where he chairs the “Carlo Azeglio Ciampi” Institute of Advanced Studies. He works on technological change, economic growth, inequality. He is co-chief editor of the journal “Structural Change and Economic Dynamics”, president of the “Società Italiana di Economia” and has been a member of the “Centro Linceo Interdisciplinare of the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei”. He has carried out research with the European Commission, OECD, ILO, UNRISD, UNIDO and the Bank of Italy.

Clara Punzi is a Ph.D. student in Artificial Intelligence for Society within the national PhD program AI and Society, jointly hosted by Scuola Normale Superiore and the University of Pisa. Her research investigates human-AI hybrid systems, extending beyond technical aspects by integrating insights and methodologies from the social sciences, especially from the realms of ethics and political economy. She is currently investigating how algorithms contribute to socio-economic vulnerabilities associated with digital platform work.
